The Nam June Paik Art Center presented a digital twin of the exhibition in their latest show of the collection Wake Up! It’s 2024, as part of the physical exhibition itself. It’s a collaboration with KT Corporation (Korea Telecom), who came to the museum to scan the entire space, in high definition.
It is therefore different from the twin exhibitions now visible online (such as those produced by Matterport, e.g.), in which visitors move from one point of view to another. It is also a heavy file that can only be accessed locally, as a kind of installation within the museum (or whose quality would be degraded for streaming/downloading).
Following the selection criteria we are currently establishing to include digital exhibits in our “long list” of cases in the Paik Research study, this one would not be included for the reason that it is apparently only visible from within the physical space and location of the museum.
